Chinese Wife Pros and Cons: 6 Points

There’s this persistent belief that Asian mail-order brides are after two things: visas and money. That can be true sometimes, but most Chinese women are driven and motivated to stand up on their own. A Chinese wife won’t be a financial burden. Instead, she’ll get a job and add to the family budget in any way she can.

However, what American guys value most is that their Chinese wives are extra supportive. They tend to follow their husbands’ lead. It doesn’t mean your wife won’t question your decisions, but once she understands your reasoning, she’ll have your back through thick and thin.

It’s probably the most controversial on my list of Chinese wife pros and cons, but most guys I talked with love how mellow and understanding Chinese girls are. Some can be jealous, but most have unwavering trust in their husbands and rarely get angry or annoyed without reason. 

Since reputation is critical in Chinese culture, most women are very well-mannered and poised. At the same time, they can get pretty emotional and loud, but only if they believe they won’t be heard otherwise.

I can’t guarantee you’ll become a millionaire with a Chinese wife by your side, but the risk of losing your money will be minimal. In most Chinese families, men let women take charge of the family budget, as women are better at controlling expenses and long-term planning. You’d be surprised at how well that works out for most families.

Besides, Chinese women are usually frugal. They are highly practical and tend to focus on necessities first, especially if money is tight. So, a Chinese wife won’t spend your money frivolously, and she’ll try to keep your family afloat by any means.

It pains me to admit it, but most Asian women love white guys. Mass media turned them off Asian guys, so if they have a choice, they’ll always choose someone associated with a higher status. 

At the same time, Chinese women are loyal and devoted, so the risk of losing your Chinese wife to another man is negligible. Until you have kids, you’ll be the sole focus of her care and affection (which is a good thing in most cases).

It’s well-known that Asian women age differently from caucasian girls. They do take care of their looks to preserve a youthful appearance, but it’s also an inherent trait. So, even if you pick a Chinese wife closer to your age and not a girl in her twenties, she’ll still look as fresh and gorgeous in twenty or thirty years.

As long as you don’t have children, you will be the sole focus of your wife’s high standards. Sometimes, it can be a good thing motivating you to achieve career success. But if the demands become too much, they can strain your relationship to the point where your wife behaves more like your mother.

You can avoid most of these issues if you help your Chinese bride find her place after relocation. Once she has her own job and interests to worry about, she’ll be less likely to nitpick your achievements.
